Literacy - Cry Of The Taniwha - Chapter 9 and 10

Walt- Write informative, interesting sentences.

1.  Find the meaning of the following words: Caucasian, Complexion, Absence, Sovereigns, Resistant, Corrosion.

2. Use each word in an informative, interesting sentence.  


 Corrosion- The process of corroding metal, stone, or other materials.



Caucasian- Of or relating to one of the traditional divisions of humankind, covering a broad group of peoples from Europe, western Asia, and parts...



Complexion- The natural colour, texture, and appearance of a person's skin, esp. of the face.



Absence- The state of being away from a place or person.



Sovereigns- A former British gold coin worth one pound sterling, now only minted for commemorative purposes.

  
Resistant- Offering resistance to something or someone.

Complexion - An attractive woman with  pale complexion walked past.  
Absence- Brennan's absence bought happiness to the school. ☺
Resistant- I am resistant when it comes to eating meat. 
Sovereigns- I found alot of sovereigns in the Redwood Forest.  
Caucasion - There was a caucasion man in the middle of the street.  
Corrosion-  There was alot of corrosion in the hard materials room.
